This is a standard PCIe capture card — it works on its own in any Windows or Linux PC. A VSN wall controller chassis is only needed if you're building a multi-display video wall; most of our capture cards are sold and used as standalone cards in a single workstation.

About This Product
Five complete video capture channels: one channel up to 1920×1080 DVI or 2048×1536 analog resolution, plus four SD analog capture channels. The XtremeRGB-Ex4+ captures Analog/DVI data and triple-buffers it into onboard storage before DMA transfer to the host system for display, storage or streaming — and when paired with an EMS graphics card, transfers data directly to it for increased performance.
Ideal for viewing analog or DVI sources from PCs, Macs, industrial/medical equipment and cameras, streaming applications, and video wall controllers. Supplied with configuration software that auto-detects video source format on connection.

The mixed SD/DVI channel layout makes XtremeRGB-Ex4+ a fit for projects combining one modern DVI/HD source with several legacy SD analogue feeds on a single card — common in industrial and machine vision installs upgrading one camera at a time rather than all at once. If every channel needs to be DVI/HD rather than a mix, the dual-channel XtremeRGB-Ex2+ is a cleaner fit; for eight SD channels and no HD requirement at all, XtremeRGB-Ex8 is the higher-density option.
