Compact Capture Cards (XtremeLC) range overview

XtremeLC is EMS's compact, low-profile PCIe capture series — single-channel HDMI (XtremeLC-HD), dual-channel HDMI (XtremeLC-HD2) and single-channel SDI (XtremeLC-SDI). It is built for a PC that captures and streams: lecture capture and distance learning pods, medical and simulation appliances, live events and compact streaming rigs. Capture up to 3840×2160 at 30Hz over HDMI or SD/HD/3G-SDI at up to 60fps, with hardware scaling and colour space conversion on the card, and use it with the software you already run — OBS, vMix, Wirecast, VLC and other DirectShow applications on Windows, or Linux.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Which XtremeLC card do I need?

XtremeLC-HD for one HDMI source, XtremeLC-HD2 for two HDMI sources on one card (channel 1 up to 3840×2160 at 30Hz, channel 2 up to 1080p60), or XtremeLC-SDI for one SD, HD or 3G-SDI source.

What software works with XtremeLC?

XtremeLC is tested with OBS, vMix, Wirecast, VLC, Microsoft Media Encoder and other DirectShow-compatible software, using the EMS unified Windows and Linux driver.

Can I fit more than one card?

Yes — more than one XtremeLC card can be fitted in a PC for more capture channels.

Can XtremeLC be used in a VSN video wall controller?

No. XtremeLC uses the LiveStream:Capture architecture, which is not supported for wall controller applications that rely on MultiStream. For a video wall, choose a digital (XtremeDV) or mixed-signal (XtremeAV / XtremeRGB) capture card.
