This is a standard PCIe capture card — it works on its own in any Windows or Linux PC. A VSN wall controller chassis is only needed if you're building a multi-display video wall; most of our capture cards are sold and used as standalone cards in a single workstation.

Product Overview

About This Product

The EMS XtremeLC-HD2 provides dual channel, high definition HDMI capture built on EMS's LiveStream:Capture architecture, allowing captured video to be processed in real time to a processor or graphics card. Channel 1 captures up to 4096×2160 @30Hz 4:4:4 (297Mpixel/s), while Channel 2 captures up to 1920×1080p @60Hz 4:4:4 (165MHz).

Designed for medical environments, simulation systems, live events, PC/console capture, lecture capture and real-time streaming, more than one card can be installed for multiple capture channels. Inputs are accessed via any DirectShow or Media Foundation compatible application, with a Video for Linux (V4L) driver also available.

Applications & Markets

Where This Product Fits

XtremeLC-HD2 is the pick when a single small-form-factor card needs two independent HDMI capture channels rather than one — common in lecture capture rigs combining a presenter camera with a laptop/podium feed, or dual-source medical and simulation setups. Where only one HDMI channel is needed, the single-channel XtremeLC-HD is the lower-cost option; where the source is SDI rather than HDMI, look at XtremeLC-SDI.

The Bottom Line

Why Choose the XtremeLC-HD2?

  • 1.6 GB/s total DMA bandwidth
