This is a standard PCIe capture card — it works on its own in any Windows or Linux PC. A VSN wall controller chassis is only needed if you're building a multi-display video wall; most of our capture cards are sold and used as standalone cards in a single workstation.

About This Product
The XtremeDV-A2 is a high-end dual-channel capture card purpose-built for Aligo, Datapath's AV-over-IP streaming protocol used within the Aetria video wall and workstation ecosystem. Each of its two 10G SFP+ channels independently receives Aligo streams direct from Aligo TX transmitters over the network — either a single visually-lossless 4K stream, or up to four independent HD streams per channel, giving one card the ability to bring in up to eight separate HD sources without needing separate physical receiver boxes.
Multiple XtremeDV-A2 cards can be combined within one system or workstation to scale up the number of simultaneous Aligo streams, and the card inherits the same hardware-based scaling, multi-client support and EDID management as the rest of the XtremeDV range.
Where This Product Fits
The XtremeDV-A2 is specifically built for Aligo streams on an Aetria network — Datapath's newer AVoIP video wall platform — rather than EMS's established VigiControl/VSN ecosystem. If a project is already standardised on VSN chassis and VigiControl software, confirm Aetria compatibility with EMS before specifying this card; for a directly-wired source on a VSN/VigiControl system, the rest of the XtremeDV range is the proven fit. Where a site is deploying on Aetria and needs to bring multiple Aligo network streams into a workstation or wall controller, the A2's ability to receive up to eight HD streams on one card significantly reduces the hardware footprint compared to individual receivers per source.
