About This Product
XtremeAV provides simultaneous SD and HD video capture through one channel of DVI-I (supporting HDMI, DVI, RGB or analogue Component/YPbPr) and one channel of composite video, both triple-buffered into onboard memory for tear-free capture. The AM2 audio module and cable are included as standard, for synchronised analogue audio capture alongside either video channel.
It's a four-lane PCI Express card with up to 800MB/s of DMA bandwidth from the capture engine and 256MB of onboard buffer memory. The HD channel captures progressive and interlaced formats up to 4096×4096 resolution at up to 165MHz pixel clock for digital sources or 170MHz for analogue RGB, supporting 1080p at 60 frames per second. The SD composite channel automatically detects PAL, NTSC or SECAM up to 720×576.
XtremeAV-HD2+ gives two full HD channels, for applications that need to compare or switch between two HD sources. XtremeAV's single HD plus single SD channel is a different trade-off — combined with its half-height bracket and bundled audio module, it's the more compact, cost-effective choice when only one HD source and one legacy SD/composite source need to be captured together.
Where This Product Fits
XtremeAV is the right fit wherever a single modern HD source (PC, camera, medical or industrial equipment output) needs to be captured alongside a legacy composite/SD source at the same time — a common pairing in medical imaging suites mixing a modern HD endoscopy feed with an older SD monitoring signal, or lecture capture rigs combining a laptop's HD output with a legacy document camera.
If the application needs two full HD channels instead of one HD plus one SD, XtremeAV-HD2+ is the better fit. If it needs 3G-SDI alongside HD and SD, look at XtremeAV-SDI.
