About This Product
The Expansion Kit is the physical link between a master VSNV3 (or Express9-G3/Express11-G3) chassis and a VSNV3 Expansion Chassis — three parts that arrive and are specified together: the HLink-G3 host card, which fits a slot in the master chassis; the SLink-G3 satellite card, which fits a slot in the expansion chassis; and Ex-Cable-G3, a 1-metre cable connecting the two. Together they extend the master's PCIe bus across to the expansion chassis with full gen-locking, so capture and graphics cards split across two physical boxes stay perfectly synchronised — there's no visible seam on the wall between a card in the master unit and a card in the expansion chassis.
Each kit links exactly one expansion chassis. A star topology — every expansion connected directly back to the master rather than daisy-chained through another expansion — is the recommended configuration for anything beyond a single expansion, since it keeps each link independent rather than passing bandwidth through an intermediate chassis.
